Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times · published
Before we dive into this week's edition, we'd love to share our Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Time deep dive by the lovely Boba of Yogscast!
Rhell had the honour of being a part of the Convergence Games Showcase yesterday alongside many other wonderful games and hosted by some great content creators!
In other news, we're doing a giveaway! If you've played 1 hour of the demo, you can enter to win a copy of Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times!

Continuing on from our previous before and afters, we're now showing you what the world of Rhell looked like before what you see now.
Same with the NPCs in Rhell, a lot of the world and area designs I have pretty clearly in my head. But the trickier thing with area designs is I also have to plan out navigation and puzzles in these areas!
Some other areas that don't need a lot of design changes, I will sketch out simple layouts just to get a general vibe of what I want something to look like. Like this hotel scene I sketched out just to see how to get the perspective of the cable car in the background juuuuuuust right.
With simpler areas and even house designs, I will sketch out smaller details so I can get a general idea of what I want in the finished model, while keeping it loose enough. This way I can still experiment with the design while I am modelling it.
Here's Gahrtz' wagon, for instance:
And Langli's house!
We honestly love seeing before and afters of our developers games and hope that you enjoy them as much as we do! We have a few more world before and afters from Slug Glove to share with you so stay tuned for next week!
