A new RealFlight Evolution beta, version 10.10.129, is now available. This is the first beta version in a while and it includes a lot of changes. More complete release notes will come later. I will briefly touch on some highlights now, though.
- A new material definition system for content creation (see this post in the RealFlight Forums Designer's Corner for details)
- Rendering: Moon flickering when water is enabled is improved, but not completely fixed (case #84757)
- Rendering: Fixed unexpected transparency in some aircraft preview images (case #84762)
- Rendering: Smoke no longer obscures the vehicle in the binocular gadget (case #84763)
- Rendering: Fixed shader compositor and shadow rendering errors related to certain props (case #84798)
- User Interface: Training system menus are updated similarly to the Challenges UI changes that went into 10.10.101 (and which are still in beta)
- Sound: If master mute is enabled ('M'), exiting the vehicle editor does not unmute ambient environment sounds
- Sound: Fixed spurious prop strike sounds that sometimes played incessantly in the vehicle editor (and which ignored muting)
- Sound: Ambient environment sounds do not play in the vehicle editor
- Import: Protected against crashes from certain malformed data
- Added support for all currently available DLC (through 2024 Quarterly Content Pack 4)
This update also includes all fixes already released in the public release branch.
