Hello everyone!

No Space For Salad is a cozy, cute game designed to be played in local co-op. The idea is simple: run a food truck in space, explore planets, and gradually build your adventure at your own pace.

The original idea was to take something that is often associated with stress — cooking games, where everything moves fast, you have to run everywhere, and you almost end up yelling at each other — and turn it into the exact opposite.

Here, there is no pressure. No oppressive timer, no constant chaos. We wanted to create a calmer, more chill experience, where everyone can move at their own pace, explore, cook, decorate, and simply enjoy the journey.

At the start of the adventure, you serve very simple dishes, like a good old bowl of space porridge. Then, as you progress, you discover new recipes, upgrade your setup, unlock decorative elements, explore other planets, and gradually start settling all around this little corner of the universe.

Where is the project now?

There are two of us working on No Space For Salad, and the project has now been in development for around 9 months.

The game is still at the prototype stage, but the core gameplay loop is already in place. Right now, it takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour to go through the current version’s content and reach the end of what it currently offers.

There is still a lot of work to do before reaching a final version, but the foundations are there.

Serve customers and cook

Set up and decorate your restaurant

Go exploring planets

Vacuum up ingredients

Build on a planet

And now?

We are currently working on version 0.4.

The foundations of the project are there, and our goal now is twofold:
to keep improving everything that already exists, so the experience becomes more enjoyable, smoother, and more satisfying, while also adding more depth to the adventure.

We are currently exploring several ideas to enrich the game over time: new buildings on planets, unlockable cooking machines, maybe crops to grow, and other systems that would make players want to stay longer in this universe.

For us, the challenge now is really to turn the current foundation into an experience that makes players want to go further.

What's next

We are planning a demo by the end of the year, or at the beginning of next year.

Until then, we will be sharing more development updates, as well as more detailed previews of certain mechanics and the project’s progress.

Thank you very much for reading, and thank you for your interest in No Space For Salad.
Feel free to wishlist the game, share your feedback with us, and join our Discord: we are also planning to launch a closed testing phase soon.
