Etude now has a loop-based sequencer mapped to your computer keyboard. Build patterns, quantize them to any harmony, and partake in the Band Consensus without a MIDI controller.
This update gives Etude a second way to play: a full loop sequencer mapped to your computer keyboard. You can now get in the arena with just QWERTY, no MIDI controller required.
Each key on the keyboard is a slot in a loop bank. You design the pattern for that key, then trigger it live: latch it on, mute it, stack multiple loops, or reshuffle your bank between rounds. It feels closer to playing a sampler or clip launcher than a piano.
The sequencer is wired into Etude’s harmonic brain. The Quantize panel lets you snap your loops to any root and scale (or harmony type), either Per Loop or Global.
Screenshots show the current UI, including the loop grid and the harmonic map. This system is still evolving, so feel free to push it and see where it breaks.
