Fellow Officers,

a huge thank you to everyone for playing the recently released Self-Defense Update! We hope you're enjoying the new form of escalation and the heightened sense of realism and danger across the City of Brighton.

Bringing this major update to life was a huge effort across all departments. Several prototypes were created, countless variables have been tweaked, and many discussions with age rating agencies across the globe took place, plus a full re-rating of the entire game.

We are aware of a few issues that appeared with the release of the update. That's why, just before the weekend, we want to confirm that we are working on a first Hotfix that will resolve several problems as quickly as possible.

We have categorized most issues into several stages of priority, with the plan to tackle the issues of utmost importance first.

Here are just some of the problems we plan to fix with the first Hotfix:

  • Weapon Permits are always the same

  • Matrix Sign turns off when exiting vehicle

  • Winch disconnects from connected vehicle when entering Patrol Car

  • Unintended circular shape across the screen

  • Locker & Garage Edits do not save reliably

  • No drug deals happening at drug deal callouts

  • Several issues related to missing options and unintended behavior after performing CPR

  • Several issues connected to Gun Usage like unjustified CP Loss

  • Lights on Patrol Cars are not as bright as before, including Unmarked

  • "Thief got away" message appearing constantly even though that isn't actually the case

It's possible that not all fixes will make it into the first Hotfix, but we plan to provide additional updates to address remaining issues afterwards.

We currently estimate a release of the Hotfix in Open Beta next week as we want to gather additional feedback first before releasing it to the broader public.

Your feedback is important: Please continue to provide feedback on features, balancing, and bugs. Feel free to send us your impressions on Discord, in the Steam Beta forums and on our Socials.

A quick note about modding

We've also updated the modding kit for Police Simulator! They now include all information about the APV and MRV and contain multiple fixes for the FPV as well. Check out the Modding Guide for more details:
