Today, we officially released Level 11. With the new level comes a new species: the Spider Ducks. Supply them with a nonstop flow of resources — and woohoo! — you can finally cross pipes (well… the Spider Ducks can).
One of the most requested features from our community has been the ability to cross pipes. At the same time, many of you pointed out that not being able to cross pipes is a core part of the Star Birds puzzle experience. It forces creative planning, creates meaningful challenges, and defines how the game feels. Both sides had a point. So: what’s the right solution?
With today’s release of Level 11, we believe we’ve found a good middle ground.
Say hello to the Spider Ducks. They are a new species. Small, fast and very busy. Like ants, they collect everything they can find and carry it back to their nests. Including ... a Strangelet!
Your pipes won’t stop the Spider Ducks. And if you treat them well, they might help you transport resources.
With the Spider Ducks, we also introduce a new mechanic for more advanced levels. They expect a constant supply of resources. Keep your production rate high, the flow steady, and maybe, they’ll hand over their Strangelet.
