We’ve recently been informed of an upcoming change from Epic Online Services (EOS), the platform that powers our online features. Starting October 1, 2025, some Windows players using older EOS versions (including the one currently used by Abyssus) may experience connection issues.
What does this mean for you?
If your Windows system is fully updated, you should be fine.
If you encounter errors, you can fix them by either:
Installing the latest Windows Updates (recommended).
Manually installing the new security certificate (see below for the full runthrough).
We’re already working on updating Abyssus to the latest EOS SDK. This will ensure long-term stability and prevent these issues altogether.
Manual Certificate Installation (Windows)
If you experience connection issues after October 1, 2025 and updating Windows doesn’t solve it, you can manually install the required security certificate by following these steps:
Open the Start menu → type cmd.
Right-click on "Command Prompt" and select "Run as Administrator".
Copy and paste the following command into the window, then press Enter:
curl https://account-public-service-prod03.ol.epicgames.com/account/
4. Once the process completes, restart your computer.
5. Relaunch Abyssus and try connecting again.
⚠️ Note: This method is only needed if Windows Updates are not applied or do not work. The easiest and safest solution remains updating Windows regularly.
