Version 1.5 of Hoping Forest is now live on Steam.
This version includes a few internal changes aiming for the Android release, but also a couple of fixes and UI changes.
Patch note:
Fix issue where fast path wasn't recognized: Internally, the game has configured the minimum number of steps possible for each puzzle. However, there were reports of players finding paths even shorter than I believe possible. So now any path that is equal to or faster than the one I set up will count as the fast path for the level. Giving room to other clever players who can find paths I didn't imagine.
Change in the UI for the tutorials: Now, Tutorial 1 and Tutorial 2 have new animations showing the action.
Highlights of Steps and the beginning of the levels: Now, at the beginning of the level, the number of max steps for each level will appear with a simple animation to highlight it more, instead of just showing up in a corner of the screen.
Regarding the Android port. It's going to take a bit more time. There are a few things behind the scenes that I just need to wait until they are done, and then there are processing times on the Google Play Store that will delay any kind of upload for at least a couple of weeks. However, as soon as I can publish a demo, there will be a new announcement including a sign-up for a closed beta on the full version. I'm also planning on adding an export-import system for the save files, so players can take their progress wherever they want. (Automatically cloud sync requires integration of third-party systems that I prefer not to put into the game, like Google login or stuff like that.)
