It's been three full years since Bob and Liz came sketching and erasing their way out of Early Access and into their full adventure and what a ride it's been. Ten years of on-and-off development of this project has been a labor of love. But as Wayward Thoughts Interactive prepares to move forward onto our third project, it's time to close the cover of the Magic Sketchbook.
That's right; Bob and Liz are going out with a bang. One final update with a bunch of new costumes, bug fixes, and quality of life changes to get the game into its final state. From hereon, we'll be doing sparse maintenance patches for major bugs only. Over a decade of stale code and a collapsed animation stack means it's time to say farewell to Bob and Liz.
But now is not the time to be sad that it's over, but happy that this wonderful adventure occurred. I'm a completely different person now than when I started this project and I'm proud to say that Bob and Liz evolved from a primordial concept I envisioned at age 8 over time into a game I'm truly proud of.
Bob and Liz's final update includes several costumes and tributes I'd been wanting to do for a long time including official crossovers with two other wonderful indie platform games: PaperKlay and Green Guy Goes Grappling.
I sincerely hope to someday return to this world and these characters, but for the time being Wayward Thoughts Interactive is now in full production on Game 3.
To everyone who supported Bob and Liz, who saw themselves in the characters, or who just really liked the Beach Bum costume (you know who you are and I salute you), I want to say thank you.
This may be the ending for Bob and Liz (for now), but we have tons more in store coming soon, so be sure to follow us on all them there social medias.
