It's here!
This is the Festival I've been working towards since the start of the project!
The Demo will be a great experience for new and veteran players
For newcomers, starting your new Hearth can be slow going - others seem to build mansions while you learn to place tables.
Now the first day building you home isn't so heavy - We added tutorials to introduce
The Catalog
Placement
Destruction
Fine Editing
Building Expansion - Push / Pull walls and floors
You should have everything you need to start your Hearth!
Outlines now show what the action will do
Select = White outline and Fill
Attach = Blue outline when an asset will attach to another when dropped
Edit = Shown Grid and Outline only
Remove = Red outline and Fill
The bottom left UI also shows which mode you're in.
We noticed there were too many items in single categories, so now the Catalog has been updated with nested categories!
Simply put you can go multiple layers deep now.
Added Decor - Tableware, Shelf wares, Misc and Ornaments and other
Added Produce - Food, Drink (to split those up)
I added new building sounds and visual effects to make that gameplay more juicy and responsive when adding and removing walls freely. Sounds and Dust add A LOT to the feel!
The ALT key modifies each mode to add extra functionality.
Place Mode Modifier = Mass Placement, just keep clicking!
Edit Mode Modifier = Solo toggle, i.e. don't move this group, just the selected asset
Remove Mode Modifier = Mass Remove, drag your mouse to remove many assets (with care!)
Duplicate! = CTRL + D, that's right, once you have the perfect angle, just duplicate and move!
Undo! = Escape key, and coming to a Ctrl + Z soon because I realize that's way more usable!
Switch between any mode with keys at anytime (previously you had to be in Build mode to access edit mode etc, now its way more seamless)
Place Mode = 1
Edit Mode = 2
Paint Mode = 3 (coming soon)
Build Mode = 4
Remove Mode = 5
Edit > Move = Q
Edit > Rotate = E
Edit > Scale = R
ALT + Click during Place Mode
CTRL + D while Editing and Asset (Move, Rotate, Scale mode)
ALT + Drag Mouse during Remove Mode
