We're an indie studio that started with a Ludum Dare prototype in 2017 — that prototype became Despotism 3k. Each game that followed: Despot's Game, Slime 3K, built on the last, and each one found its audience. But while we were heads down on Slime 3K… something else was quietly taking shape…HULL RUPTURE
Hull Rupture is a real-time resource management roguelike with tower defense elements and a distinct "colony sim" aroma.
The thing is, in our game, humans aren't "charming residents" with their own personalities and backstories. Here, humans are just a raw resource. The Despot AI (that’s you) treats them like any other commodity: you produce them, spend them, and recycle them into something else. You’ll have way more people running around your ship than in your average colony sim, but they are entirely interchangeable.
In Hull Rupture, you build the modules yourself, upgrade the entire ship, set up production chains, and—finally—fend off swarms of alien monsters with turrets!
You’ll need to be constantly recalculating your next move, managing resources, power, and human lives to keep the system running, defending Despot’s ship at all costs.
A playtest is now live. Jump in, try it out, and let us know what you think. The final state of the Despot’s ship depends entirely on the results of this playtest!
