Hey everyone! Let’s talk today about the next big thing coming in the Foam & Fame update, I’m talking about the competitions and the new challenges your brewery will have to face if you want to become the top 1 brewer in the world 🥇
What are competition like?
As you progress far enough in the markets, you’ll have the opportunities to show your skill in specific competitions organised against other abbeys. If you’re willing to test your might and with enough florins to submit your application, you’ll be able to prove yourself! These contests offer a great way to earn valuable rewards and other things that' we'll present later. Each competition is organised in leagues, prepare yourself to climb to the top of the brewery podium one competition at a time.
To succeed in these competitions, you’ll need to meet the specific expectations set by the judges. Even more than casual orders with specific demands, every judge has their own preferences and standards in terms of foam, age, foam,etc…
Understanding their unique tastes can make the difference between a standard beer that fulfilled its goal, and the ale that will win their hearts
Winning competitions comes with several benefits. Not only will your victorious ale see its reputation and (and selling cost) enhanced but you’ll also be able to get some bonuses on a short term for your abbey and gain some fame as well!
There are multiple competitions for you to explore, each offering a unique demands and the chance to showcase your brewing mastery. Whether you're a seasoned participant or a new challenger there's always something new to strive for. As well as the previously established rewards, any competition worth your time also comes with a trophy!
Trophies will work as rewards you can place in your Abbey as a unique piece of furniture 🏆
New developments for your abbey!
With this update, you'll gain access to new technologies in the tech trees specifically linked to competitions. These include:
- Competition Techniques - Unlocks the possibility for an ale to earn the competition traits
- Jury Pleaser - Add +5% to the competition score
- Procrastination Approval - Increase by 50% the deadline for the competitions
- And more…
Each designed to improve your performance and strategic options during events. In addition to these technologies, you’ll also unlock specific traits that further boost your chances of success in competitions.
All of this ties into the next evolution phase of the monastery, which becomes available with this update!
