We've got a brand new tutorial that can be played through, which is accessed right from the main menu! We still also have the tutorial tips button in the bottom-right corner of the screen when you're in the middle of playing through a level, but even that has been updated as well! It now includes videos since most people would rather watch something than spend time reading about it! Huzzah!
In this new playable tutorial, you are patronized by your father, the goblin king. His ill temperament and snide remarks are suffered by the protagonist as you make your way through the 5 waves of tutorial gameplay. This tutorial is definitely able to be failed if someone has their heart set on being cheeky and disobeying his orders, so have fun breaking the game if that's the kind of thing you get a kick out of!
But the important thing is that for anyone who genuinely finds this game a bit unobvious from the start and would like to have their hand guided a bit by a proper tutorial, now we finally have one!
In other news, I've also added level variants!
What does that mean, you ask? Well there are a couple different versions of each of the starting levels now. The levels will appear mostly the same, but you can now come across levels that have a slightly different layout of platforms which can have a huge impact on how you might go about playing through the level. Some setups are definitely more challenging than others. The general rule of thumb is that the more platforms a stage has, the easier it usually is to conquer!
So don't be afraid to hit that RETRY button a few times until you land on a stage that seems interesting to you! You might be a newcomer looking for an easier time with more platforms, or you may be a veteran of tower defense games who is hungry for a more challenging playthrough. The choice is yours!
