Hello!
I’m Matzgo, the developer behind Siegebound, and I’ve got some exciting updates as we approach our first official playtest.
I’ve been working on improving core gameplay systems — especially character and unit abilities, along with the buff/debuff mechanics.
Buffs and debuff system (like stun, silence, etc.)
Creating a variety of abilities for a diverse set of units and buildings
Balancing units and buildings to keep gameplay fair, but still exciting
I’ve also been adding some much-needed juice to the game. That means better feedback, more satisfying interactions, and just making everything feel a bit more alive.
Overhauled sound effects using high-quality SFX assets
Added animations for the player character and game world interactions
Level-Ups and abilities now feel more impactful with improved visuals and audio
Now that most of the gameplay side is in place for the playtest, I’m focusing on visual improvements. Some things are still using placeholder models, so I’m cleaning those up.
Creating proper models for key buildings
Developing an improved shader for buildings and units
Texturing assets to match the overall style of the game
I’m aiming for a Steam playtest launch in the coming months. No exact date yet, but I’ll post another update as we get closer!
You’ll be able to opt in directly on the Steam page
A single level of Siegebound offering a unique roguelike survival game with a large variety of units
You’ll have the opportunity to help refine the game’s mechanics and build a better game together with me
