Howdy, partners!

By the end of the day, when the tools were set aside, people gathered in the same place they always did. Just to sit, talk, and take a break from the work. On the frontier, that place was usually a saloon. And where there’s a saloon, there’s alcohol.

Across the American frontier, saloons became central “institutions” once a settlement secured its basic needs. During the expansion west, especially in the years following the California Gold Rush, they served more than just drinks. They were places to trade, to rest, to hear news, and to deal with people face to face. For many, it was the only break in a long day of work. On the frontier, and in Wild West Pioneers, alcohol was more often made locally rather than bought. Using what’s available, moonshine becomes the natural choice early on, as it’s relatively simple to produce compared to more refined options.Establishing a supply of potatoes, grain, and water will be needed to start production. All of this is tied together through the settlement’s logistics, making it less about a single building and more about setting up a working flow. And while the process itself isn’t fully reliable and batches can fail, it will be enough to satisfy the early whims of working settlers. Moonshine will be enough for your settlers early on, but it doesn’t satisfy everyone. As houses improve and residents live better lives, they will demand higher quality. For those more refined tastes, bourbon becomes necessary. Step in and build something worth staying for in Wild West Pioneers.
