General questions

What kind of game is this?

The Floor Above is a psychological horror where you’re strapped to a chair in a looping room. You can’t move — only rotate, blink, and choose.

Your challenge: separate reality from hallucination, survive the loop and unlock the truth. Every choice matters.

  • Discover the story of a man named Mike and the room he cannot escape

  • Don’t trust your eyes: blink and decide whether you see reality or a hallucination

  • Face claustrophobic nightmare anomalies

  • Discover hidden lore through the narrator… and Morty the cat 🐈

How is it different from other horror games?

Instead of running or hiding, you go on by observing. Every blink, every choice matters. It’s less about jumpscares and more about atmosphere, tension, and doubt.

How long is the demo?

Up to 1 hour, depending on how carefully you play and your success with reaching level 9.

Can I move around the room?

No, that’s the point. You’re stuck in a chair. At least, until you make nine right choices in sequence. Then… something happens.

Is this VR?

Not at the moment, but we are considering a VR release in the future.

Does the demo have saves or checkpoints?

No, but it’s short and designed for one sitting. If you exit the game, your room counter will drop to zero.

Gameplay

How does blinking work?

It’s your way to check if something’s real — or a hallucination. If you see something wrong with the room, try to blink (right click) — if the anomaly has disappeared, it was a hallucination. If not, press the red button.

What happens if I press the wrong button?

A wrong choice will reset your loop to zero, and you will have to start the counter again.

Are there jumpscares?

There are some, but the main focus is psychological tension and atmosphere.

Story & Lore

Will there be lore to uncover?

Yes, both in narration and hidden details you can piece together. Be attentive, check every detail, try every move, and you will be rewarded with knowledge.

Who is the narrator?

That’s one of the secrets you are supposed to uncover. Also, in the full game, there will be multiple narrators each with their own story.

Why is the room looping floor by floor?

That’s also for you to discover. Each new floor hides new anomalies and hints about the truth.

What about Morty the Cat?

He’s real. Or is he? In the demo he makes a short appearance — in the full game, he may know more than he shows.

Content & Release

What’s included in the demo?

1 narrator, 1 ending, 35+ anomalies, Morty’s first appearance, and 3 hidden easter eggs.

And in the full game?

5 endings (including the true one), 145+ anomalies, multiple narrators, hours of gameplay, horrors and secrets.

When is the full release planned?

We expect to release the full game in the end of 2025, or in the beginning of 2026.

Will there be post-launch content (DLC, extra modes)?

There are no such plans at this time, but it’s possible.

Do you plan to support mods or Steam Workshop?

No.

Will there be localization?

Full English and 13 other text localizations, with more languages planned.

Can I stream or record the game?

Absolutely — we’d love to see your reactions. Please send us links to your content!

Do you provide a media kit or official assets for content creators?

Sure, you can download assets by this link. Also, feel free to contact us if you have any specific requests or questions.

Technical Questions

Is the game supported on Steam Deck?

The demo version does not support Steam Deck, but we plan to support it in the full release.

Can I play with a controller, or is it keyboard/mouse only?

The controller support will be added in the full game.

Which platforms are planned?

PC via Steam for now. We’ll explore other platforms later including VR.
