Happy New Year! We hope you celebrated Christmas and New Year's Eve with family and friends surrounded by truckloads of fun. We're back on the trail and start 2025 on the high gear on Truckful and in this community update, we're sharing some recent milestones and gameplay updates. Buckle up and let's go!
Ghost Truck
We've been working on Truckful's first antagonist - the mysterious big, scary truck haunting the countryside during the night, affecting the small town residents who tremble with fear hearing all the stories. While roaming the countryside, players will learn more about its origins and true nature, eventually having to face this steel monster. Here is the first look at its grim silhouette:
" - What hits you first is the smell. The smell of burning rusted metal and oil. Before you know it, you can't see anything... and then that noise! It's a horn, but it sounds more like a city siren, yet here, in the forest? I ran as fast as I could. Others mention corroding rust that poisons the crops and plants, leaving forest paths stinking of decay. Some drivers also go missing." - says Theresa, The Mechanic working in the nearby Workshop.
Checkpoint Shrines
We've been working on a checkpoint system that would automatically save your progress during important game moments and came up with charming shrines - ones that resemble small town roadside altars. For example - once you conquer a steep hill or any other demanding section fully loaded with cargo, you might want to *phew* for a second, making sure the hardest part is done before finally delivering the cargo to the recipent.
We plan on having a variety of shrines scattered aroung the countryside with different night/day variations, below you can see an example 👇
25 000 wishlists crossed!
Last but not least - we closed 2024 on a high note, reaching net 25 000 wishlists on Steam (now at +26k!) and would like to thank you - each and everyone! Your interest, feedback, gameplay ideas and overall support means the absolute world to us at MythicOwl and we continue working on Truckful more motivated than ever! 🙏
We will be sharing more gameplay updates in the upcoming weeks. We're also working on a heavily requested demo but have no projected timeframe for public testing yet. Once ready, will surely let you - our Steam Community - know first!
