An important new release as we proceed ever closer to the upcoming LTS 2026 release.
Note that this one has quite a few new features as well as a large number of bug fixes, so there are too many things to mention here.
Please do ensure that you read the release notes page very carefully, in case you now need to make changes to your machine setup or your projects.
As you will see from the notes, there has been a big focus on stability and performance fixes for Windows and Mac IDEs, plus FPS/lag/window size fixes for Windows games.
One very important change is that earlier 2024.14 releases have shown an increase in "random" Windows IDE crashes due to GPU drivers being unable to resize swapchains or not responding to more commands - this .4 release upgrades the renderer to a current version and so should more reliably support recent external changes in drivers/Windows.
There are a large number of existing bug reports for this, so there is no way we could list all of them on the release notes page, but we encourage as many people as possible to try this release if earlier GM 2024.14.n releases crashed often on your PC (especially if you know your older GM crashes when you do a specific, repeatable action).
Again, remember to read the release notes page very carefully and also check that your external SDKs are the correct versions for this GM release (a link to the setup guides is always at the top of the release notes).
