New Game+ - Game Store Simulator · published
I'm not here to announce a launch. The game isn't ready for that yet. But the Steam page is live, and that feels like a milestone worth sharing.
I'm one person. I started with zero game dev experience. No team, no studio, no budget. Just an idea I couldn't shake: what if you could run your own game store, starting in the late '90s, and live through every console generation? So I started building it.
🎮 Hands-on retail - Stock shelves, scan items, count change, inspect trade-ins. Every sale is physical.
📅 Five console eras - Start in the cartridge age and work through generations of era-authentic consoles and culture
🛒 25+ parody game titles - Love letters to the franchises you grew up with. You'll recognize every one.
👤 Customers with personality - Collectors, bargain hunters, clueless parents, demo-station kids. Seven types.
🏗️ Full store customization - Walls, floors, shelves, display cases, posters. Build the store you remember.
🎉 Dynamic events - Black Friday chaos, midnight launches, holiday rushes, summer droughts
The game is in beta. The core loop works, but there are rough edges everywhere. I'm not hiding that. There's no release date yet. This is me opening the door early and saying: come watch me build this thing.
It costs nothing. No purchase, no pre-order, no commitment. One click tells Steam's algorithm that a real person cares about this game. For a solo dev with no marketing budget, that's the difference between being seen and being invisible.
I'm building this in public on Discord. Feature votes, dev updates, bug reports, dumb ideas at 2am. You're not just watching. You're part of this.Join the DiscordThis is the very beginning. Thanks for being here for it.
