CONWAY: DISAPPEARANCE AT DAHLIA VIEW coming AUTUMN 2021 | Announcement
We did it! We just announced our new game to the world on a global stage at E3!
We can't quite put into words what this means to the team. We've never had a platform like this before and to know one of our games has been given a spotlight like this is very humbling.
The idea that we can finally shout about the game after working hard on it for the past year and half. Getting to the point where we're able to speak openly with the community is massively rewarding. There's a lot that goes into the early stages of a game's development, the left turns and changes in direction all need refining until you know what it is you're creating. In a similar approach to how we tackled our previous game, we wanted to put our heads down and stay quiet for a while so that when we did finally share the game with you all it was in a place where you knew exactly what we're creating.

So what can you expect from Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View?
Conway is our homage to 1950s cinema. We really liked the idea of a complex story set in a finite world, with a cast of characters to keep you guessing about what really happened. At White Paper Games we love the use of narrative in creative and innovative ways, which hopefully you’ve seen in our previous games - and Conway is no different. It’s an intense detective story with elements of interrogation, observation, and problem solving along the way.
We've got a lot of cool content lined up over the coming months in the build up to launching the game this Autumn.
Now that this trailer is out, we’ll be continuing production on the game to add the final features and quality we want to add before we share more with you all.
We’ll also begin concepting our gameplay trailer so that you’re able to see a deeper look at the game to get a better understanding of the moment to moment gameplay and what you’ll be experiencing through Robert Conway’s lens.
We also have a series of development videos that you can find on the WPG YouTube channel which we’ll be documenting every stage of the process so if you enjoy behind-the-scenes content, be sure to check them out.
We documented the process of creating our announcement trailer in a development video that's currently being edited and I'll be sure to post it here when it's live so you can see the work involved in getting an announcement like this together.
We also have a Discord that we've just set up, so if you want to come chat to us please do join the server. We will of course still be dropping in on the Steam forums to answer as many questions as we can but Discord will be the most direct, albeit informal, approach.
So what did you all think of the trailer? Was it what you were expecting from a White Paper game? What most interests you about the title? We'd love to hear your thoughts whilst we continue to push ahead with development to bring more content to you all very soon!
Until next time,
- the WPG team
