Unstable/BETA Branch
We also want to announce that the Unstable/BETA branch for Visual Novel Maker is now available so that we can improve VN Maker together.
The Unstable/BETA branch will contain latest fixes and improvements for testing before they get into the stable build. So that branch is unstable and for use at own risk.
To use it, do a right click on Visual Novel Maker in Steam, select Properties from the popup-menu, switch to BETAS tab and select "beta - Use at own Risk" from the dropdown menu and thats it.

Migration
VN Maker has an automatic migration system which migrates your project data to the latest version if necessary. We mentioned this in the Help File but we mention it again here to avoid issues:
If you do scripting in Script Editor or Extension Editor, make sure that you never edit already existing scripts directly. Always create a copy of the original script and change the behavior through inheritance or patching. That is because the migration process might replace built-in scripts with their latest version and that means, if you did direct edits, there is a chance that you lose that changes. If you have any questions about that, just let us know.
CHANGELOG
- Change Expression command now supports Wait/Continue setting.
- Import of Assets through Resource Manager which are located in the project folder itself works now.
- Re-Import of already imported assets will now correctly move the assets to the selected group/folder.
- Persistent Variables are now saved & loaded correctly
- Live Preview skips Idle, Wait for Input and Image-Map now for better preview results. It will now longer get stuck at "Input Text" common event in Action-based UI template for example.
- Unlock CG command's default value is now correct
- CG Gallery issues fixed with Action-based UI template
- Message Settings command works now even if other font has been selected.
- Live Preview: Music Stops now if you click on a command which is above the Play Music command
- Live Preview: All Audio stops now if you do a real game test
- Help File works now with MS Edge + Better Layout.
