We hope you enjoyed Truckful's new gameplay trailer that premiered during last week's The MIX Fall Showcase 2024. This bit introduced the first character interaction (Meet Rotti!) and a brand new pickup truck design, that we want to explore further in this community update. 🚚
The 'OG' truck
When Truckful was first introduced 4 months ago, we presented the very first design of the pickup, with a bit rounder body, oldschool looking headlights and a front grill that resembled 1950-60s truck design. It was also described as cozy, cartoon-like and sometimes giving the impression of a toy - we felt like there is room to improve, especially considering much darker atmosphere and future upgrade sets.
Overall, we're happy with the look, however when it comes to sturdiness or vehicle stability on more demanding paths while carrying heavy cargo, we wanted to improve on all of these fields, also making room for future upgrade opportunities that play a major role in Truckful.
New base truck
So what's new? We completely redesigned the front grill, making it much bigger and heftier. We added a manufacturer emblem that can be also upgraded/changed later in the game, giving players an opportunity to customize the look as they like - adding stickers, hood ornaments and more.
We also wanted to put more emphasis on your truck's powerful engine that will also be upgradable, so players could experience easier and faster uphill deliveries, alongside a bunch of benefits. We played with new wheel arches as well, already thinking about how future upgrades. Here you can check out one of the concept arts showcasing the heart of your trusty companion 👇
We came up with a modernized look and made the frame bigger, so players would feel more control while navigating through paths with lots of heavy cargo. This new design gives us more freedom while adding future upgrades such as tailgates, winches or even recently showcased horns.

Vehicle frame upgrades & new truck ideas
The most important thing - this new look of your trusty pickup truck is the base design - meaning that it will replace the 'OG' truck and be the foundation for future frame upgrades, leveling up your truck similarly to how you upgrade the boat in Dredge.
As for new truck ideas - we're constantly working on new stuff and here are the 'baby steps' of another drivable 'Japanese-style' truck 👇
