Hey all ːsteamhappyː

First of all, let me say that despite the fact that I publish this news during the period of All Saints/Halloween, the game is still alive 😊

As I'm solo developer doing almost all stuff alone (except 3D models I buy or music I commissioned to be created) my time is very limited (not speaking about day to day job and family). What I wanted to say is that I strongly limited for now marketing, or status updates of game in favor of working on game itself.

I'm trying to do something in the game almost every day (even small things). I believe I've finished the hardest part of game mechanics and now I'm focusing on connecting all things together.

Things that are done:
- Cleaning rugs with updating rug textures (depending on rug cleaning stage (watering, rotary cleaning etc.)
- Saving & Loading game with keeping rug statuses (basically you can save game in the middle of cleaning rug and on load you will start with rug being cleaning as you left it) <- that was huge pain ːsteamsadː
- NPC system - I can now easily generate NPCs with random/custom visuals and jobs they have to do. Main goal is to create immersive NPCs you can as a player interact with (but we will see where it will go)
- Steam Deck build - I was able to run game on Steam deck! Steam deck support, green tick is my goal
- Time & Day system - for now it's basic but works fine with day/night cycle
- Testing Settings menu etc.
- FSR2 support (I bumped up Godot engine for that sweet feature). Game now works more smooth.
- Game environment - industrial part of big city (that will make more sense than random beach as it was in first trailer)

To do list:
- Finishing main game loop. NPC will bring dirty rugs, we will clean rugs and earn money, respect and exp.
- gamification (rare rugs, collecting all rugs knowledge or something like this etc.)
- Menus, UI/GUI
- Character creator (not sure if this is big priority now - please let me know)
- Shop customisation
- Minor bug fixes (cars rides weirdly after collision etc.)

When Demo?
My current goal is to have demo being done in 3 - 6 months. After demo being published, I'll open discord and talk with you about suggested changes and opinions and fix those things before full game release.

I'll be posting more stuff on game and demo here.

In-game event23 May 2026Performance & Polish UpdateHey cleaners, A focused stability and performance pass landed today. The biggest win: first-time mouse rotation, first NPC conversation, and first use of every cleaning tool no longer stutter — the game now pre-warms shaders and particles during loading so it's silky from the very first frame of play. ⚡ Performance • Major shader/PSO warmup pass — eliminates first-use hitches • Multi-threading…Major update15 May 2026Post Steam Next Fest Update Is LiveHello everyone, After Steam Next Fest, I went through the feedback and focused on the biggest issues players ran into during the demo. This update is all about making Rug Cleaning Simulator feel smoother, clearer, and more polished across the full gameplay loop. A lot of the work in this patch went into the cleaning experience itself. I reworked the feel of first-person cleaning, improved tool…In-game event11 Mar 2026Steam Next Fest Summary & Thank You!Thank You for the Feedback Your posts on the discussion board , comments, and bug reports were incredibly helpful . During the demo release and throughout Steam Next Fest I tried to fix problems as quickly as possible whenever they appeared. Until players got their hands on the demo, I honestly had no idea how many things were broken or needed improvement . Working on this project solo and most…
