Is it normal to release a remake of a 1-year-old game? No?

About 8 months ago I began porting the game to consoles and somehow corrupted the source code of the game. I had 2 backups. Both failed me.

It was a dark time, indeed. Not only did I have commitments to other platforms to deliver ports, but the latest Steam update of the game was rather buggy. I had no way to make quick fixes to fix the current version. So, if you played the game between April 2024 and now, I apologize. The game has been in a rather shit state.

But I decided not to give up. I crunched 7 days a week for the past 8 months and rebuilt the game from scratch. Yes, really.

This is what's new and improved:
-upgraded to Unity 6 and Universal Render Pipeline
-new shaders and lighting system for an even more Comic Book-like visual style
-new animation system for more-realistic player movement
-new menus and options
-new "One Button Combat" mode for accessibility
-new combat mechanics (ghosts damage you based on proximity, so maintaining distance is now paramount to survival)
-all new, optimized 3D models for EVERY character and enemy
-new camera angles
-new items
-new Sound FX
-new cutscenes
-new logos for non-English versions
-and of course, new scares...

Like a phoenix from the ashes or a specter in the morning light, GHOST at DAWN is back and better than ever.
