Hey everyone!

First, I want to say thank you for helping us test Cat Secretary in its earliest playable form: the alpha playtest. Some of you have already playtested, and your feedback has already been incredibly valuable. Many suggestions have already been implemented, such as reducing stamina drain and improving player gating during the prologue.

We're early into production for Cat Secretary, and your ongoing support through testing our builds, evaluating our design decisions, and providing us with your feedback will be critical to making this an amazing piece of art of which we can all be proud.

Thanks again and please enjoy,
Kerrod

Patch Notes

General Improvements

  • Stamina now drains significantly slower. We’ll continue to refine this throughout development as we revisit enemies, abilities, and stealth in general.
  • Notifications Rework, including Quest Headline, Line Items, Click-Through Notifications.
  • Improved, more dynamic Maps are partially implemented. You can access them via the Floor Plan on each floor. Eventually, this will replace the map in the MousePad.
  • Various Camera improvements, including where the Camera distance was juddering. This includes resolving wall collisions and updating the player's default zoom for a better camera view.
  • Updated CelShader, which leaves a cleaner shading and removes various issues such as wall light glitches and elevator shading issues.
  • Desk have been reworked, and are now non-interactable. Office Quests that had opportunities to place things inside desks are now trays on the desks.

Prologue Stability

  • Fix the issue where Benjamin’s dialogue would trigger when not in the ride-along sequence, breaking the prologue’s guide.
  • Fixed the issue where Players could sleep with Benjamin on their head.
  • MQ0-2 now starts after the morning cinematic with Obbo and Auggie.

Act One Stability

  • New VO moments for Act One.
  • Added dynamic doors to Josiah's office.
  • Added Josiah to his office during the evening.
  • Josiah’s Props are moved to their correct spots.
  • Added Door to Production Floors entrance.
  • Fix a bug preventing Josiah Dating Sim to start.
  • Added Loading Screen and Music to Dating Sim.
  • Vertical boxes were added back to Josiah's foyer. Removed all traversable interactions except the top one.

Various Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Various Dialogue and Typo fixes
  • The game now checks and removes NPCs from floors when they shouldn't exist
  • Added Interact flag to Door Keypads
  • Fixed the issue where the Jump icon shouldn't show up if you're already on the thing
  • Fixed issue where climbing through the Vent on the 3rd floor no-clipped to the bottom floor, breaking floor load state
  • Fixed Save Builder issue where Quest HUD would break on the first load
  • Fixed the issue where redirecting to Employee's Office Quest after profile completion was pointing to the wrong quest.
  • Fixed issue where you can switch focus while examining an object
  • When you pick up an item, the interact context UI should change to 'Put down' instead of 'Pick Up'
  • Updated Door to mail room on 2nd floor so you can't open it when it's blocked by a wet floor sign.
  • Fixed the placement of the intern report in the Mail Room
  • Fixed bug where MouseCorp vendor would re-open after delivering an office quest.
  • Latest emails are now at the top
  • Resolved Collision Errors
  • A new texture for PC
  • New Diane Photo that matches her face
  • Added stairs to the basement in the Lobby
  • Improved color clarity in Computer UI when it comes to option selections (e.g. Start Onboarding Quiz)
  • Moved Fax Machine to a corner of the Security Room to avoid accidentally interacting with it instead of Obbo
