Another bi-weekly patch to the Claws & Chaos demo is here, and this one makes some not-so-insignificant changes to combat and balancing.
We’ve heard many of you loud and clear regarding the difficulty level of the Arena, especially at earlier levels. So, we’ve adjusted early game matchmaking to be more accommodating for new players.
Also included are some changes to the in-combat economy. Population Up costs more, but this and the Shop Upgrade now reduce in cost every round they are not used. Selling creatures will also now net you more gold in return.
Read on for all the changes in this version, and keep the feedback coming here on Steam and in our Discord!

Improved early game matchmaking for new playersCombat Changes
Population UP button now costs 4GPopulation UP and Shop UP buttons will reduce in cost each turn. Ex: If you don’t press the buttons, they will go down in cost by 1G next turn, rewarding a player’s patience.Sell Mechanic OverhaulAll units now Sell for (Tier - 1) Gold. At Lv 2 and 3, unit value is multiplied by the Level. Previously, units always sold for gold equal to Level (1, 2, 3).In-between levels do not count towards Sell. So hit the breakpoints and level up your heroes!Example: Lv. 2 Dog Paladin sells for 2G (1g x 2 lvls)Lv. 1 Smoggy Bear sells for 3GLv 1.5 Smoggy Bear sells for 3GLv. 3 Smoggy Bear sells for 9G (3g x 3 lvls)Consumables now have a 4 Stack Limit (unless flushed with Laxative)To balance out the value of hyper rolling a single carry, we want people to diversify builds and explore different combinations. A unit can eat up to 4 Food before becoming “Full”.Laxative Food added as a Tier 4 FoodAt endgame, you may find yourself wanting to overfeed a unit. To do that, feed them a Laxative and continue consuming!UI/UX Adjustments
