1.2 Rotate the new added camera
Click and drag slider at Rotation Control area using mouse. You can rotate the camera. The limitation is 180° if turning left or right and 90° if turning up or down.
2. Limitations
2.1 Support 64 bit operating system only now.
2.2 Support HTC Vive device only.
2.3 Support VR application using unity engine only. If you find any unity VR application not supported please leave a message to us.
2.4 Known issues and solutions
a. An extra Vive controller icon appears in the SteamVR UI.
Expected. We add a vive virtual controller technically for the extra camera. When you open spectator mode one more vive controller icon will be added. It will probably not bring side effect to your experience of VR application. If you do not want to see it any more, restart SteamVR application.
b. When recording in spectator mode, the window of VR application in the computer screen is divided into four sub windows.
Expected. And it will not impact the playing experience with the Vive HMD on.
c. Spectator view disappeared suddenly
Either or both of the two physical vive controllers run abnormally including powering off, entering standby mode and losing tracking by vive base station. Power on and take the two Vive controllers into the tracking area again is required.
d. Spectator view is controlled by a physical vive controller
The two physical vive controllers must be kept powering on and tracking by base station on spectator mode. The situation generally caused by controller powering off and on, or tracking lost and resume. It made the running virtual controller taking over the abnormal physical controller, and later the resumed physical controller take over the virtual controller. Restart the running VR application may fix the issue.
