Glassteroids now has VR mode, new weapon pickups

Hi everyone, I've added a VR launch option for the Glassteroids game mode. Rather than be in first person, you hold the ship in your hand. This is a really good mode for people who get motion sickness or aren't using to first person shooters

I've also added a couple of weapon pickups to Career mode - the rail gun, and the heat ray! The balance and ammo levels will be tweaked in future.

I'm working on a Defender game mode right now - was hoping to get it out before Christmas but it remains to be seen whether I can fit that in with travel and seeing family. I'm finding it difficult to get an arcade feel for the shooting on a large planet. The planet is currently about 30 times bigger than the main Glassteroids arena so the ship and bullet speeds need a lot of work. I think I will have to take the size down and add homing projectiles for the enemies and player to get it to feel right.

In the meantime, here's a sneak preview at some of the art style I was experimenting with for the humans in the Defender mode

Hope you all have a great Christmas/Hannukah/Winter Soltice/Holiday and New Year!
