We are very thrilled for today’s update, it’s the start of something we’ve been working on for a long time, and we are proud to unveil it to you today. Let’s get right into the update log.
New Features
Cloud Ovum World - Artist Open Studio Series
We are thrilled to unveil our first world created in collaboration with an artist! Designed by MIQ, the Cloud Ovum World invites you to experience life as a vessel floating above the clouds. Please look forward to more artist world releases in the future!
Manual World
For all newcomers to MEs - learn how to use MEs while playing MEs! Create your own Manual World to learn the controls, interactions and functions of MEs by yourself or with your friends online! Revisit it any time to remind & refresh your memory.
To access the manual world:
- Open MEs
- Once loaded press “Q” to open the menu
- Navigate to “WORLDS”
- Click “Add World”
- Select the Manual World, create and enter the world
World Browser
The WORLDS menu is now split into two separate tabs; FEATURED WORLDS and MY WORLDS. My Worlds functions just as how you’re used to it - you can find a collection of the worlds you created. The Featured Worlds tab will be updated to a hub in the future for a variety of world categories, but for now you can learn more below.
Featured Worlds
Featured Worlds are worlds anyone within MEs can access - no access code is necessary! Jump in and experience these worlds with other players. Please note that all featured worlds are set to view only. You will not be able to place or move any patches. You can expect many more featured worlds in the future…
UI Updates
In addition to a fade in animation for all worlds in the World Browser, cloud worlds will display a cloud icon to differentiate them from local worlds. The World creator’s username will also be displayed below the world title in the browser.
Text Patch Improvements
Both types of text patch are now double sided! You will no longer be surprised by a text patch appearing suddenly - it will clearly announce it’s existence no matter which way it’s facing. Additionally, the camera will ignore the text patch and not zoom unexpectedly when walking through a text patch.
Bug Fixes
- MEs process correctly terminates on Quit
- Camera no longer collides with patches in the MIND
- The date on worlds and text patches doesn’t set itself to 1970 anymore
- World Details no longer gray out when viewing other worlds
- Rotation axis don’t reset on each right click
- Edited opacity in the profile menu
- Increased base size of browser patch
- Fixed MEs chan collision on browser patch
- Rotation tool displays correctly on browser patch

Communication Methods
When you play with others online, ideally you want to be able to communicate together. Rest assured, systems for this are in the works.
