Hello everyone!

With the release of the game next week, we feel it’s time that we started revealing a few things behind the development of The Obscura Experiment. For example, we only got an official name for our game in the middle of production!

Finding an original name for a game is never easy. When we first thought about it, we wanted the title to be the name of our monster: Dark Matter. Turns out that there already was a bunch of games using the exact name as their own title! We concluded on The Obscura Experiment after a week of research, debate and voting!

Here’s a small list of names that were scratched for various reasons:

• The Dark Matter Project
• Astrophobia
• It Came From Beyond
• Station Alpha
• Project Cimmerian
• Dark Entropy

The discussions would go on for so long that we would get really tired and would propose very ridiculous names like:

• Avoid
• Nothingness
• Unsolved Problems
• Weird Stuff
• The Dark Spinner
• Invisible Darkness

At the end of the day, our team agreed on The Obscura Experiment as we felt it gave the right connotation of sci-Fi and horror. It’s a name that we grew fond of while we developed the rest of our game.

Stay tuned for more announcement in the next coming days!
