From my hideout I can see the clock on the Bureau of Administration as it strikes midnight. The shadow of the Monastery looks deeper every day. It feels as if I'm never going to escape it. Those around me seem afraid. Overheard whispers: another district devoured by the plague. Those who were lucky enough were eaten alive by the infected and those less fortunate were gathered and cleansed by the sacred of the Spring of the Eternity - the Guards. Lucky few who managed to escape their grip tell tales of inhuman brutality, fanatical devotion to the High Priest and no mercy for anyone touched by the plague. I’ve heard countless testimonies and witnessed it with my own eyes. And with midnight approaching, their patrols begin. No one is safe - friend or foe. And when they take you as the target - nothing will save you or your beloved.

- The Dissenter

Militia Guard

Taken from their homes early and raised in military camps, Militias are the most common troops used by the Spring of Eternity to maintain the peace in the City. During their training they are brainwashed to follow every command without hesitation and with religious devotion to the High Priest. Lightly armored and armed with the metal baton are not much of a match for the Plagued but serve their purpose as a riot control troops. Often you can see them looting infected districts and transporting stolen goods to the Black Cathedral. When encountered be sure to avoid eye contact and perform any utilitarian task.

City Guard

Those of the Militia that excel in brutality and fanatic devotion to Spring of Eternity are promoted to become City Guards. Going through extreme training and being subject to various rituals, they are transformed into something more than just soldiers - a living weapon. Armed with the electrical baton, full metal armor and mask with air filtering system they are equipped to deal with the most heated situations in the plagued districts. They often patrol in numbers ready to corner unexpected opponent - wether it’s the infected by the plague or innocent citizen who were just there in the wrong time.

Inquisitor

The Inquisitors are the inner circle of the Spring of Eternity. They are the chosen ones by the High Priest and he had a great reason for picking every one of them. Their loyalty is unquestionable and the fear they impose is the tool that often will stop the riots and protest before they even start. The High Priest sends them to perform tasks of great importance in the City, like purging the districts, or hunting for the most dangerous heretics. Armed with heavy armor and Flame Baton, they are formidable enemies in combat. When encountered you should run and pray for your life. But run far enough because probably the closest neighborhood will be burned to the ground.

And as the Unholy World sometimes reflects our, the Guards can be also met in the Normal World as servants of their Spring of Eternity in there. Maybe not as brutal but with the same devotion at heart they can be as formidable and will not stop at anything. Wherever you will meet them, whether Unholy or the Normal World, avoid them at any cost, as nothing good will come out of it - only suffering and misery.
