Raid on Taihoku - Bring You Back to Taipei, 1945

At the end of WWII, the U.S. performed the “island hopping” strategy on Japan. Two countries were in an aerial combat in the sky above Taiwan Strait.
May 31st, 1945, A total of 117 B-24 bombers fly towards the capital of Taiwan - Taihoku (Taipei).

Based on historical records, the U.S. military performed countless bombing runs on Taihoku, causing heavy casualties. A terrifying amount of people were killed by the bombardments, and those who survived, lost their homes. Many world-renowned historical sites were also flattened by the ruthless war.

The heavy bombardment brought by the U.S. military was without a doubt a severe hit on Taihoku. It also brought deep impacts on the infrastructure development in the future Taipei. The modern day Office of the President was the Taiwan Soutokufu (Government of Taiwan), and was directly hit by a bomb from the U.S bombardment. The front of the building and the side of the tower were severely damaged, and the building was not fully repaired until the year of 1948. Even until this day, there is still a part of the building that can’t be fully restored. The modern day Legislative Yuan (the parliament) on the other side was acting as the Agricultural Office and Forestry Bureau, and was used as the dormitory of Taipei Second Girls’ High School. The dormitory section was also severely damaged by the bombardment, leaving only the brick walls standing. The school was unfortunately abandoned afterwards due to the difficulty of repairing and lack of staff. There are many other priceless historical buildings that were destroyed by the ruthless war and beyond anyone’s recognition. People can only imagine the scene through history records. We hope through the form of video games, we can take players around the globe to dust off this part of the Taiwanese history that was long buried in the stream of time.

The player’s in-game adventure takes place in the severely bombed Taihoku in WWII, including the shady streets of Dadaocheng, the decayed Sakae Town Shopping Street, the dangerous Taihoku Train Station, the Taiwan Soutokufu that was targeted by the U.S. military, and also the Cathedral of Taipei and the abandoned Taiwan Shrine that were nearly completed destroyed. Despite many scenes that only remained in old photographs and memories, they will make a beautiful comeback in a brand new form in the game.

We craft with the finest quality, and we invite you back to the year 1945 to witness a war-torn Taipei that you have never seen before.
The past cannot be rewound, but the memory can be rebuilt. In the unstable generation, we wish you all the best with everything.
