We’re happy to share that the first update for Taxi Chaos 2 is here! 🚕💥

This patch is a quality of life and performance focused update, along with new language additions, built directly from community feedback. We’ve been closely reviewing reports related to crashes, progression issues, Arcade Mode balance, and cases where players could get stuck or blocked. Clear and detailed bug reports genuinely make a difference they help us pinpoint issues faster and resolve them more efficiently. Not all issues have been addressed in this patch, but we are actively working on improving Taxi Chaos 2.

Alongside significant performance optimizations, this update brings improvements to Arcade Mode flow, Story Mode events, TaxiBot behavior, world navigation, and player clarity through better UI signposting. It also lays important groundwork for future updates, further optimization across devices, and new features we’re actively working on.

Improvements

  • Improved overall performance

    • Reduced audio render times

    • Increased overall render performance

    • Memory usage optimized

    • Optimized draw overhead

    • World loading time while playing has been decreased

    • General texture size optimization

    • Traffic performance has been increased

    • TaxiBot performance has been increased

  • Updated environment elements to prevent players from getting stuck

  • Added control scheme to the pause menu to help players find inputs

  • Added Kick Customer input information next to the Customer Description

  • Chaos Resolver Customers now show a Goal Highlight indicator to make them easier to find

  • The red highlight for Chaos Resolvers now remains visible at all times, even when delivering another customer.

  • Added Pipe Burst Chaos Resolver Events to Story Mode

  • Slightly rebalanced a few Goal objectives and Data Point rewards in Story Mode

  • Improved various TaxiBot spawning conditions in Story Mode & Arcade Mode

  • Lowered weight for one of the Heavy Customers that made some cars unable to drive

  • Improved vehicle landing behavior for more consistent and predictable results

  • Arcade Mode balancing adjustments:

    • Adjusted Arcade Mode goals based on player feedback

    • Reduced repetitive goal rolls (e.g. multiple Earn Money goals in succession)

    • Level progression smoothed so later levels are consistently harder than earlier ones

  • Improved customer spawning logic for special goal requirements

  • Increased pipe burst impulse strength for better visual impact and gameplay feedback

  • Removed legacy event combinations that could sabotage runs or records in Arcade Mode

  • Added physics to worker robots across the city

  • Updated the Green House point of interest visuals

  • Aligned visual signposting of gates and ability to open a gate

  • Updated pipe burst events to use current barrier layouts instead of legacy ones ● Updated various road visuals in Magport

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a crash that could occur in later Chapter 1 Shifts if player got close to faulty actors in Dusk shift section

  • Fixed a crash that could occur when failing the Tutorial mission

  • Fixed various unintended gaps in San Valeda where player could get stuck

  • Fixied collision issue for various two lane road intersections that could cause Player to slightly bump up against it

  • Fixed collision issue for a Draw Bridge in Magport that could cause Player to slightly bump up against it

  • Fixed Landslide Chaos Resolver event for Jack Hammer where markers were not showing properly

  • Fixed various Goal configurations

  • Fixed the objective marker in the Climax sometimes not updating when you pick up a customer

  • Fixed an issue where multiple TaxiBots initiating pursuit at the same time could result in one or more not starting pursuit, especially in the Tutorial mission

  • Fixed faulty collision on some of the Heavy Vehicle wheels

  • Fixed incorrect goal assignment for Chaos Resolvers in Arcade Mode.

  • Fixed an issue where destroy tank goals could appear without required abilities or cannon customers in Arcade Mode

  • Fixed balloon customer not spawning with balloons

  • Fixed floating and clipping issues with pipe workers

  • Fixed Arcade Level 8 Magport Tank area overlapping with another world event

  • Corrected pipe burst resolver destinations in Magport

  • Fixed some dead ends in San Valeda

  • Fixed missing goal marker for “Drive over San Valeda Dam” goal

  • Fixed General Helmet and Imperial Helmet always being unlocked when appropriate TaxiBots were destroyed, regardless of whether it was caused by the player

  • Fixed Cleo’s first voice line cutting off during Tutorial mission

  • Fixed TaxiBot Pursue HUD not always using correct participant count
