Update 0.572 — Welcome to TOKWO

LIMP MODE · published · build 25647535

PATCHNOTES SUMMARY:

  • NEW TOWN: TOKWO. At km 350 a neon city waits — a huge scramble crossing, an elevated train and signs that never go dark.
  • SHADY JAVE. TOKWO's back-alley dealer sells the Stage-2 ECU stick — it no longer turns up in loot.
  • SAFER SAVES. Saves are now protected and written in one go, the game keeps older states for you, and a hard reset can be undone. Load an older state from the pause menu.
  • CO-OP FIXES. Everyone now sees the same world after long jumps, and players who join late are no longer invisible to others.
  • NO SPRINGS, NO RIDE. Remove the suspension and the car sits on its body; remove the camber arms and the wheels tilt.

New

  • TOKWO (km 350): scramble crossing, elevated train, neon shops on the ground floor and Shady Jave with the Stage-2 stick for $2,000.
  • Backups: start states, a recycle bin for resets with undo, and Load older state in the pause menu.
  • Phone booths now reach every booth you know, also in towns. In co-op anyone lying down counts as a yes, and the host has to agree when a guest calls.
  • Drag strip: in a pair run both drivers see both times and the winner.

Also in this update: push-to-talk works the same on every input, parked cars no longer land on workshop roofs, air ride keeps its height after a pick-up, passengers' inventory adds weight to the car, oil only gets sluggish when the engine really overheats, retuned cooling, lights in LOST WAGES and TOKWO always on — and lots of small fixes.

Saves: older saves load fine, but once saved with 0.572 they can't be opened by an older version. Phone booth destinations remembered from long jumps before this update may lead nowhere. Co-op needs the same version on every PC.
