DMM Connect Chat v2022.1.3 Official Release

Today, concurrently with the official release, Connect Chat changes its name to DMM Connect Chat.
Our new development focus will be on creating an experience where users can easily switch between the "ordinary" and the "extraordinary".

New Features

New UI Design

The application's UI has been updated to a more modern style.

My Room

"My Room" replaces the hub as the first room of all users (first time users still start in the tutorial room).
Invite friends to your room, or check yourself in the mirror and go visit other rooms.

New Menus

Pressing the Menu button on your controller brings up the new Home, Settings, and Action menus

• Browsing and creating rooms functionalities have been moved to the the new Home menu
• The current room information are now shown in the Settings menu.
• The Action menu makes accessing all the application's most useful functionalities just one touch away.

Comments

Room-wide text chat has been added to Connect Chat.
From the Action menu, open the Comments window and engage in text-based communication with people in the same room.

• Emojis are supported.
• Messages appears in chat bubble above the message poster's head.

Photo Camera

Take pictures with the new feature rich Photo Camera (works both in VR and Desktop modes).

• Customizable depth-of-field effect lets you capture photos with a sharp subject and a blurred background.
• Other useful features are: selfie mode, timer, angle snap, tripod mode, image stabilization, and streaming mode.

Photo Album

Browse the pictures taken with your camera in the new Photo Album and share them on Twitter!
The Photo Album is accessible from the camera menu.

Microphone Mute

Muting yourself has never been easier! The new Action menu now has a button just for that!

Events

Event rooms have been added to Connect Chat.
Take part to official virtual events as music events, expositions, and many more.

Penlight

In the Action menu, pick up your penlight and start partying.

Fixes and Improvements

• Improved the avatar movements.
• Switching between VR and Desktop mode got smoother.
• Improved the feel of both teleport and continuous locomotion.
• Ceiling height changed to 1.7m.
• Fixed a bug where the sound direction was wrong in VR mode.
• Improved the support for VIVE controllers.
• Improved picking-up and dropping items.
• ...and many more.
