🔧 Update v0.1.91 — Multiplayer Match Start & Authoritative Map Reconciliations
Hello Commanders!
This update packs major systems work, featuring a fully-automated multiplayer lobby launch sequence, developer-friendly local multi-instance testing options, localized layout sorting, and an exhaustive overhaul of our coastal province database.
Here is what's new in v0.1.91:
🌐 Robust Multiplayer Session Auto-Start
• Auto-Synced Match Launch: The host now automatically serializes the complete lobby roster payload and a unique secure launch token into Steam Lobby Data upon starting. Peers instantly receive the data callback, configure their P2P transport automatically, and sync-start the match without manual inputs.
• Off-Grid Lobby Browser Access: Added command-line arguments (-mpLocalTest, -mpForceBrowser) and the GP_MP_LOCAL_TEST environment variable to bypass full Steam initialization. This allows offline testing and development of our lobby screens and browser layout.
• Dual-Client Test Scripts: Included new automated launch tools (launch_mp_instances.ps1, launch_two_instances.bat, launch_two_instances_steam.bat) to launch multiple game clients on the same machine for rapid multi-instance testing.
🗺️ Authoritative Coastal Database Alignment
• Reconciled 1,023 Mismatches: We have rewritten our geographic data pipeline (introducing reconcile_coastal.py) to cross-reference our global database with the authoritative sea zones map. This has corrected 789 false-positive and 234 false-negative coastal tags!
• Specific Corrections: Mismarked landlocked regions—such as France's Ain province—have been correctly updated to non-coastal status, and actual coastal borders are now fully aligned with marine zones.
• Pipeline Health: Integrated a permanent validation rule to validate_all.py to prevent any future coastal database regressions.
🌍 Localization Files Polish & Clean-Up
• Strip Byte-Order Marks (BOM): Fixed an issue where hidden BOM characters (U+FEFF) generated sorting errors across supplementary language translations.
• Alphabetical Key Ordering: Re-sorted all 12 localization CSV datasets (en, tr, de, fr, es, es-419, pt, pt-br, zh, ja, ko, ru) into unified case-sensitive order, eliminating thousands of silent parsing inconsistencies.
Thank you for your feedback as we continue polishing systems and gameplay alike!
