🔧 Update v0.1.95 — GPU Dynamic Borders, Host Time Authority & Smart AI Army Building
Hello Commanders!
This update introduces high-performance GPU-instanced map borders, host-authoritative speed management in multiplayer, and a complete rewrite of the AI military recruitment system.
Here is what's new in v0.1.95:
🗺️ Zero-Copy Dynamic Borders (Rendering Optimization)
• GPU-Driven Border Coloring: We have completely eliminated the CPU performance spikes and micro-stutters previously caused by dynamically coloring national borders. During map mesh generation, every vertex is now packed with its adjacent province indices in its UV3 channel.
• Real-time GPU Blending: A custom shader (BorderLine.shader) reads this channel and directly samples province colors on the GPU. This removes all CPU memory allocations, RGB-to-HSV math, and heavy CPU-to-GPU mesh uploads, maintaining butter-smooth frame performance during global map modes and zoom adjustments.
⚖️ Host-Authoritative Multiplayer Time Control
• Host Speed Authority: In multiplayer games, speed and pause controls are now host-authoritative. Clients can no longer pause the game or adjust game speeds.
• Multi-Language Warning: If a peer attempts to change the speed, the action is safely rejected and a localized warning is displayed: "Only the host can change game speed."
• Localized Support: Fully localized and verified across 12 languages: English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish (Latin America & Spain), Portuguese (Brazil & Portugal), Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Simplified Chinese.
• Complete Test Coverage: Added comprehensive suite of EditMode tests for LockstepScheduler, MultiplayerSession, and SpeedChangeValidator systems.
🤖 Smart Budget-Driven AI Army Recruitment
• Target-Based Recruitment: AI countries now calculate their military target size based on GDP, defense budget, and personality profiles (e.g. MilitaryInvestment), replacing the old scoring threshold gates.
• Strategic Expansion: AI will now count its active ground forces and issue bulk recruitment commands to cover force deficits up to a configurable batch limit.
