Spellsided Playtest · published · build 22416662
Woah, now that we’re on the playtest branch we can do patch notes!
This update is a major update for us on the backend. We’ve migrated to a lot of new systems that we’ve been working hard on in the background, and that means we can finally start putting some of our more exotic spells into the fortnightly challenges, and spells can have new interesting interactions with other spells, and the environment. You’ll notice some challenges are missing, and that’s because they contain content that isn’t migrated yet.
Added Challenge #14 - Dust Gust
We are now using our in-house plugin that directly imports MagicaVoxel’s .vox files into Unreal, for all the models you see in the game. This plugin is still a work-in-progress, so please let us know if you have any bugs or performance issues!
The main menu has been touched up a little.
There are a bunch of new known issues that come with the new backend systems. They’ll get resolved over time!
The death particle effect is doing some funny stuff right now.
Some spells aren’t popping out of their sockets when they are on the top face
The dash animation is a little bugged.
Hex is a bit tired and isn’t jumping as high as usual when moving around.
Some models are just… missing a voxel in the middle. Blame the Enderman.
Exiting a challenge takes you back to the main menu instead of the challenge selection menu.
Be sure to check out our new fortnightly devlog that we’ll be posting on Steam Community, Discord, and other socials - the first one will be posted today! You’ll find community highlights from the previous challenge there, along with other fun development updates.
