A long time overdue, here's the first patch release! There aren't any new features, just a bunch of upgrades and fixes behind the scenes to prepare for more.
Busy. :) I just released Scribeam, a swipe keyboard for SteamVR. It's designed for social VR, where pulling out a full-size keyboard is disruptive and slow. I chose to release in early access because there's a long way to go before it's as powerful as it can be, and feedback from real users will make it so much easier to get there. If that sounds like your thing, please give it a look!
Behind the scenes, VRInputSpy being first also meant that it was built with tools that I was still learning and building along with it. When I started on Scribeam, the toolchain kept evolving along with it and VRInputSpy was left behind. With this release it's been brought back in sync, meaning both of them should be much faster and easier to update. (1.0 was built on my gaming machine in a very fragile mingw environment!)
While I didn't anticipate taking quite this long away from VRInputSpy, it hasn't exactly been a smash hit (not was it expected to be), so focusing on the next thing made more sense. That said, I've heard from a few of you who really find it useful and I'm so glad. Hopefully I'll see you again within this year for 1.2 with some of the additional features I talked about on launch, and more substantial fixes. Thanks for your patience.
