Build 20 Update: Crimson Fleet Fixes
A round of fixes from playing through the Crimson Fleet campaign: fairer quest fights, waypoints that stay put, real protection in the starter zones, and a Job Board that tells you when a quest is ready to hand in.
New
Job Board glow. The Job Board button on the dock screen glows green when a quest is ready to hand in there.
Scanning aura. While you scan, your ship is wrapped in a pulsing teal shield so you can see the scan working.
Faction emblems. Standing rewards on quests, and each row of the Standing tab, now show the faction's emblem instead of its leader.
Changes
Starter zones protect you from everyone. Enemy fire now does half damage in starter zones and three quarters in low-danger zones, whoever is shooting. Before, many ships and guns ignored it.
Side quests can be dropped. Only main story quests stay locked in your log.
Hubs never run out of Medkits or Distress Beacons.
Traders gossip less. Independent traders now share a few lines of local news instead of a wall of text.
Defense guns you build have a no-fly zone that matches the size of the gun, and their health bar sits right on them.
"The World They Do Not Fly Over" is now handed in to Severance Researcher Krisp at Tarsis Prime, instead of completing the moment you arrive.
At Pyre Anchor, Sera Im offers "What She Saw" first. "Nobody Ever Asks" follows it.
Sera Im no longer appears as a crew officer. At two hundred years old, she is staying put.
Fixes
The Void Syndicate wing in "They Were Counting Our Tonnage" no longer kills you almost instantly, stops chasing you across the map after you respawn, guards its post by the Cinder Yard, and keeps the three ships the quest needs.
Ambushers in "First Off the Line" and other defend quests now arrive outside the world's shield, where your shots can reach them.
The green waypoint back to a quest giver who lives on a platform, like the Cinder Yard, no longer disappears once you finish the objective.
Ships no longer sink into the Cinder Yard rig or the gun turrets on world bosses.
Garbled characters in quest text, such as in "The Ordinary Parts" and "The Year's Names", are fixed.
No more Hyper-Gate flickering in and out at Tarsis Prime.
