Hello, Outpost Keepers!
Hotpatch 0.17.16 is now available. This update makes early progression easier to follow, improves several major interfaces, and includes fixes for construction, trading, and guest behavior.
Guided Progression
New: Onboarding Checklist
A new checklist has been added beneath the top-left HUD to help guide new players through the early game.
- Shows what to build next during onboarding.
- Tasks are checked off automatically as you complete them.
- Guest room requirements are now displayed more clearly.
- Uses your selected HUD font size and hides while other top-left menus are open.
New: Dungeon Objectives
After onboarding, the checklist transitions into permanent Dungeon Objectives.
- Track your progress as you conquer deeper dungeon floors.
- Players who disable onboarding receive Dungeon Objectives immediately.
- Progress is saved and restored correctly.
Fullscreen Interfaces
- Expanded the Pawn, Party, and Craft screens into fullscreen layouts.
- Improved interface spacing so menus no longer overlap the top HUD.
- Improved Craft screen scaling and scrolling on smaller resolutions.
Trading & Guest Improvements
- Trader arrival notifications now identify the type of trader that has arrived.
- Trading is now available during onboarding.
- Starving guests will now leave the outpost instead of remaining until they collapse.
Balance Changes
- Reduced the early-game cost of key progression buildings.
- Increased Wood gained from chopping down trees to improve the opening experience.
- Resource gathering for crops and other plants is unchanged.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Fixed a construction issue that could cause some blueprints to become stuck.
- Improved how builders locate and reserve construction materials.
- Fixed a similar issue affecting trade deliveries.
- General performance improvements to construction and resource handling.
