This update is built almost entirely on player feedback.
Density
- Enemy spawn rate reduced several times over — the field no longer saturates within seconds
- On-screen enemy limit lowered from 260 to 150
- Enemies no longer teleport back to you when you outrun them, so you can create space and thin out a crowd again
- Enemy bullets expire sooner
Early game
- Enemy health grows far more gently over the first four minutes, and the first boss is roughly half as tough
- Runs now start with a small health regeneration
- The starting weapon pierces from level one, and each bolt of a volley picks its own target — an even number of bolts used to fan around an enemy standing directly in front of you
Progression
- Drops left behind drift toward you after a few seconds, and pickup range is larger
- Elites are rarer and less tanky; late-game escalation is softened
- Armor, maximum health and regeneration give noticeably more
- Upgrade cards: weapons you already own and their evolutions appear far more often, and new weapons stop being offered once you have four
Fixes
- Menus lost keyboard and gamepad focus after closing the upgrade, character or help screen, which made the confirm button appear dead
- The gamepad confirm button is now bound explicitly
