Update 1.10.0

Hello Music Players

We bring finally, after a long time in the works, a huge update to Musical Range. We reworked the charts for 13 songs. Added lyrics to the game, improved the punch gameplay (Visuals and feel), and improved the tutorial to be more streamlined for new players.

  Added Lyrics support to the game.

  • All songs with vocals have lyrics implemented
  • Lyrics are supported for Custom Songs. Visit the #Custom-Song-Wiki in the discord server to learn how to create them.

• Added a Pause Menu
• Added a Help Menu with explanations of the different note types.
• Updated Gameplay Icons in Tutorial, Song Finish Stat page, and Game Mod menu
• Updated Gameplay UI menus to have a single Pause button.
• Changed the order for the Original Volume 2 songs.
• Thumbstick doesnt try to chnage sound tone if you are in song but paused state.
• Added and Fixed some Ottava gameplay reactions.
• Fixed collisions for some geometry.
• Adjusted Power Shot Behaviour
  • PowerShotPunchToShootDeltaTreshholdMS increased when punch helper is active
  • Shooting a note (other than the root) from a Power Chord, no longer breaks link to power shot.
  • Power Shot is tougher to change pitch and alt tone (So it sounds more consistent)

• Punch helper is more responsive when failing a punch note chain
• Crowd Faces change during song gameplay and react acording to player performance
• Added Miss emoji particles
• Changed Audio Default Settings
  • Instrument Volume increased to 0.65 from 0.50
  • Player FX Volume (Gun shots) increased to 0.65 from 0.35

• Fixed Leaderboard UI not being hidden when selecting PLAY from the World Select menu.
• Added new visual effects for Gun Shields
• Added New visual effects for Punch Notes
• Added New visual Effects for Power Shots

• Added a gap in Tutorial Select menu to prevent accidental selection
• Lyric Screen doesn’t show up until the first sentence (with text) actually gets called.
• Added various Note Pitch curves for Power Shots (Different pitch curves for sustain, vibratos, and Bends)
• Punches are handled better to prevent instances were a fast,big, powerful punch would trigger multiple punches (dead notes, punch notes, or power shots)
• Updated Whiplash Meteor animation
• Updated Punch Note Meteor Mesh
• If a note is hit, the shoot Projectile now goes towards the Note rather than the actual point where the gun was aimed at.
• Added No Laser song modifier
• Reworked laser sights to remove invisible walls around the play space.
• Powershot Punches reactivate any chord notes that are missing from being previously shot at by the other hand
• Fixed Slinger Widget Finder not showing during startup scene for new players
• Fixed Ottava staying red when exiting critical state if using song modifier ‘No Fail’
• Basic Tutorial Updated
  • Removed Sustain requirement from following meteors

  • Changed some notes to be more centered in the player’s view
  • Removed notes from Musical Phrase A.
  • Musical Phrase A is now longer.
  • Removed Thumper Device reference in tutorial
  • Tutorial Slinger now displays a hint to the meteor it is displaying.
  • The following song modifiers are enabled when finishing the Basic Tutorial (After finishing playing a song, the song modifiers are reset)

  • Fixed Help menu having out of bounds texts
  • Updated Help Menu meteor description to match Tutorial Slinger descriptions
