Brimir Update (v1434)

🕯️ The Trail You Only Ever Piled Up — Now You Spend It

Past its final tier, the Pilgrim's Trail did nothing no matter how high it climbed. The number just grew.
Now, at the Pilgrim's Stone in the Sacred Grove, you can turn that trail into Pilgrim's Tokens and etch it onto the ones who walk with you.

  • A companion's Awakening — Etch a stage like Skadi's Frosty or Baldr's Bulwark of Light, and from your next pilgrimage they stand beside you at that stage the moment they arrive.
  • Runes to leave behind — When that companion falls, they carry on one more rune. Those who wield magic leave one more spell instead.

Etching never spends the Trail itself — your tier stays exactly where it was. And what you etch is never undone.
Note that the number of companions you may take with you is unchanged. What grows is how much each of them leaves behind.

If a young companion inherits more runes than they have room for, the extras wait, and slot themselves in the moment they level up.

🔨 Forging Your Gear

Forging has opened at the blacksmith. For geld, pick one stat a piece of gear or a relic already carries and sharpen it, stage by stage.
The gain scales off that item's own value — a familiar blade or a relic dragged out of the Pericardium, each rises by its own measure.

⚠️ Forging does not cross into your next pilgrimage. Even relics you pass down arrive stripped of it. This is power you forge to spend in this life.

🏺 A Shorter Road Back

Fall with an armful of relics and you had to dig them all up from nothing on your next pilgrimage — waiting on a warden you'd already killed a hundred times as if you'd never met.

Now a warden already recorded in your codex gives up relics faster. The more you already know of what they carry, the shorter the wait.
Wardens you're meeting for the first time are unchanged — what gets shorter is only the road you've already walked.

💀 See What You Lost Before You Retry

When you back out of a fight and retry, potions come back — but relics and permanent elixirs do not. That difference appeared nowhere on screen, so you'd walk back into the same fight not knowing your safety net was gone.
Now, right beneath Retry, what's gone for good is named.

  • Relics that carry you past death — the moment they trigger now lands with sound and light, and the invulnerability that follows shows up in your buffs. You can see how much is left and use it.
  • Auto-heal — now carries sound and light when it fires.

⚖️ Balance

  • Fenrir — the slowest hands on the roster. Faster now. And Garn, once downed, never returned for the rest of that fight. He returns now.

🔧 Other Fixes

  • Eir's Cleanse — fired every time the cooldown came up, even with nothing to cleanse, leaving nothing in hand when the poison actually landed. It now waits until it's needed.
  • Equipment in the codex — only shop purchases were being recorded. Anything from battle loot, the relic dealer, fishing or crafting was in your hands but absent from the codex. Everything you've held now registers — including what's sitting in storage.
  • The Stone of Legends — deeds past the twelfth line were cut off and unreachable. You can page through them now.

The pilgrimage to the heart continues.
