Island Life Update — Tooth Pulse, Night Exploring & Quality-of-Life Fixes

Tooth & Tide · published · build 26395420

Today's update adds new ways to search, craft, and enjoy island life, alongside fixes for movement, collections, and comfort.

Crafting, trading & skills

  • Added Craft All for each species and necklace quality, plus Sell All for the selected species and quality at Koa's stall.
  • Added Tooth Pulse: briefly highlight nearby exposed tooth search spots, with separate duration and range upgrade branches. Unlocks at level 10 and costs 8 skill points; branch upgrades cost 5, 8, and 12 points each. These are earned in-game skill points, not paid purchases.
  • Added Koa's 7,500-coin night flashlight upgrade. Nearby active search spots in its beam give off gentle, intermittent glints at night.
  • Collection protection now protects only pristine teeth, leaving worn and fine teeth available for crafting.
  • Completing a species' museum jaw removes its automatic pristine crafting reservation. Your manually selected pristine protection still applies.

Museum & collections

  • Added six ammonite wall displays with increasing fossil costs: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32. Displays vary in size and sit flush against the wall.
  • Added a celebration when you collect the 20th pristine tooth for an unfinished jaw exhibit.
  • Epic and Legendary pristine finds receive their own celebrations, with a bigger flourish at the 20th tooth.
  • Updated Steam achievement integration and corrected collection totals when ammonites are spent on museum displays.

Island exploration

  • Koa has a new character model with his existing trading, conversation, walking, and daily-routine animations.
  • Tide times now shift across days, with stronger and gentler tidal ranges over time. Forecasts reflect the changing schedule.
  • Fixed repeated resets after stepping off a dock. Recovery now places you farther inward on solid decking and clears falling momentum.
  • Improved storm/high-tide recovery checks so solid shoreline ground and rocks do not incorrectly trigger a water reset.
  • Cleared obstructing rocks and foliage from walking trails and sandbar routes, including the North Crags obstruction, and adjusted foliage grounding.
  • Smoothed shop-floor movement and shoreline boulder tops, added reverse-side beach sign lettering, and improved search-spot contrast on Pearl Cay.
  • Added beach chairs for sitting and watching the horizon, with options to wait for sunrise or sunset. Fixed next-sunrise waiting across day boundaries.

Settings & presentation

  • Added Fullscreen, Borderless, and Windowed display options.
  • Added a background-audio option so music can continue when the game is unfocused, plus an optional aim dot.
  • Reduced storm rain volume.
  • Commission delivery text is now burnt orange when unavailable and bright white when ready.
  • Removed the outdated sifting-kit text from the pause/exit screen.
  • Added the Tooth & Tide tooth-and-wave Windows application icon.
