Patch Notes: Star Upgrade Clarity, Save Screen & Steam Overlay Fixes
Thanks to a player report on the forums, we found that the game was pointing you to the wrong place for Upgrade Stones. This patch fixes that, makes star upgrades much easier to track, and clears up a few other issues along the way.
Hotfix: "Missing game executable" error
A packaging mistake in the first upload of this update stopped the game from launching, with a "Missing game executable" error. This is fixed now. If you saw this error, restart Steam (or right-click the game → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files) to get the corrected update.
Your saves are safe. They were never touched, and they'll load as normal once the update finishes.
Fixes
- Upgrade Stone tooltip: The Warehouse tooltip used to say Upgrade Stones were for crafting at the Forge / Alchemy Lab. That was wrong. It now tells you to use them at the Training Grounds → Star Upgrade tab.
- Warehouse Materials tab: The tab header now reads "Hover an item to see details and where it is used." Every material's tooltip still tells you where it's used.
- Save screen freezing: Fixed the save screen locking up (the mouse still moved, but nothing could be clicked) in two situations:
- Clicking a save slot right after opening the save screen. The save went through, but the screen never closed.
- Opening the save screen and backing out with right-click very quickly, then opening it again.
The second fix applies to every menu in the game, so backing out of any screen quickly should no longer leave it stuck.
Steam Overlay and screenshots: Shift+Tab (Steam Overlay) and F12 (Steam screenshot) now work in-game. Before this, Steam couldn't attach to the game window, so neither of them responded.New: Star Upgrade reminders in the Morning Report
- When a hero reaches their level cap, a card with that hero now appears in the Morning Report every morning until you rank them up.
- Gold card: you have everything you need. Head to the Training Grounds and upgrade.
- Orange card: the hero is ready, but you still need more. The card shows exactly how many Upgrade Stones and how much Gold you're missing, so you know what to farm.
All new text is available in every supported language.
