They're Gonna Get In · published · build 26397898
Your units finally have abilities that matter, the Fate Engine fights back, you can climb through the Ages, and the castle walls actually mean something.
Your XP bar now leads somewhere. Fill it and it glows, pulses, and sheds sparks. Click it to Age Up for gold (100 for your first Age, 100 more for each Age after).
A numeral under the bar shows your current Age.
Aging up resets the bar with a burst of light.
If you can't afford it yet, clicking the bar still opens the Fate Engine.
The computer opponent ages up too.
Placing buildings now earns XP: a little for every building, a bigger bonus the first time you place a new type, and an extra point for putting a building in its best spot (training buildings inside the walls, resource buildings outside).
A new XP log at the bottom right shows each gain as it happens.
Bomb Goblins now explode with a real area blast, hitting everything nearby, friend or foe. Buildings behind your walls are safe.
Mud Golems leave a slowing patch of mud where they fall.
Hits now knock units back, harder for heavy hitters. Heavy units barely budge.
Unit ability descriptions have been rewritten to match what they actually do.
Units can no longer attack buildings inside the castle walls. Attack orders against them go to the walls instead.
Archers stationed on the walls can now fire at approaching enemies. Toggle Wall Fire from the garrison menu. Firing costs wheat while it's on, and shuts off if you run out.
Hover over your castle to see every bonus your stationed units are providing.
Corruption now has real stakes: the more you spin, the bigger the potential rewards, and the bigger the risk of walking away with junk.
Leaving before your first spin refunds your token.
Cash Out and cylinder lock buttons have new art and animations.
You can lock one cylinder at a time. Locking another releases the first.
A smoother lock-in sequence, with fewer awkward frames.
Smarter about building placement: it seeks out discounted plots and farther plots with better payoffs, and keeps its army-training buildings outside the walls.
Pays the correct discounted prices.
New speed controls: pause, 1x, 2x, and 3x.
The Gamma setting has been removed (it never did anything).
Debug readouts are now hidden unless you turn them on.
Numerous smaller fixes and interface polish, plus performance improvements to unit movement and castle bonuses.
