Terradune Update 2.0: Reforged

A Massive Combat, Progression & Visual Overhaul!

Update 2.0 is one of the largest updates Terradune has ever received!

This update introduces 15 brand-new Knight abilities, an entirely new Relic system, a Boss Rush game mode, redesigned enemies, improved combat mechanics, new character statistics, and much more!

We've focused on making combat more responsive, rewarding, and enjoyable while giving players greater freedom to create their own builds.

Here's everything new in Update 2.0!

Knight Combat Overhaul

The Knight has received a complete combat overhaul, bringing a more focused and unique identity to the character.

15 Brand-New Knight Abilities!

  • Added 15 new Knight abilities, featuring offensive, defensive, and utility techniques.

  • Removed all Wizard and Archer abilities from the Knight's regular ability selection.

  • The Knight now focuses entirely on swordplay, physical combat techniques, defense, and battlefield control.

  • Added custom animations and visual effects for the new abilities.

  • Improved the responsiveness and presentation of existing abilities.

  • Expanded the variety of combat strategies available to the Knight.

The goal is to make the Knight feel like a proper melee-focused warrior, rather than a character that relies on spells and archery.

Strength-Based Ability Scaling

We've completely reworked how Knight ability damage is calculated!

  • All damage-dealing Knight abilities now scale with Strength.

  • Removed the old fixed base damage values from Knight abilities.

  • Removed flat damage increases gained per ability level.

  • Ability damage is now determined by Strength-based scaling rather than predetermined damage increases.

  • Rebalanced Knight abilities around the new damage system to create more consistent character progression.

This makes Strength a much more important part of offensive builds, allowing abilities to grow alongside your character's equipment and stat investments.

Character Statistics Overhaul

New Stat: Attack Speed

Attack Speed replaces the previous Intelligence stat, introducing a new way to improve your character's combat performance!

  • Removed the Intelligence stat and replaced it with Attack Speed.

  • Attack Speed increases how quickly physical attacks are performed.

  • Higher Attack Speed accelerates attack animations and reduces the time required to complete attacks.

  • Added new possibilities for faster, more aggressive character builds.

Unified Defense

We've simplified how defensive statistics work.

  • Combined Physical Defense and Magical Defense into one stat: Defense.

  • Defense now protects against both physical and magical attacks.

  • Removed the need to invest separately in two different defensive statistics.

  • Updated character statistics and relevant equipment information to reflect the changes.

Enemy Visual Overhaul

Numerous enemies throughout Terradune have received completely new artwork!

Redrawn Enemies

  • Redrawn a large number of existing enemies with updated pixel art.

  • Improved enemy sprites and visual detail.

  • Refined enemy silhouettes to make different enemy types more recognizable.

  • Updated enemy visuals while preserving their individual identities.

  • Improved overall visual consistency across enemy encounters.

New Enemy Attack Animations

  • Reworked attack animations across a large selection of regular enemies and bosses.

  • Added more distinct physical movements for different attacks.

  • Improved animation transitions between movement, attacking, and recovery.

  • Improved synchronization between animations, damage, projectiles, and sound effects.

  • Updated attack choreography to make encounters feel more dynamic.

Visual Attack Telegraphs

You can now visually recognize when an enemy is preparing to attack!

Enemy combat has been extensively improved to provide better visual feedback.

  • Added clearer visual telegraphs to enemy attacks.

  • Enemies now have recognizable wind-up animations before attacking.

  • Improved attack anticipation, giving players opportunities to react.

  • Made enemy attack movements easier to distinguish from normal movement.

  • Improved timing between attack animations and actual damage.

  • Added clearer recovery animations following certain attacks.

Instead of relying on guesswork, players can now watch an enemy's movements and time their dodges, parries, and counterattacks accordingly!

Introducing Relics!

Ability Augments have been replaced by an entirely new customization system: Relics!

Relics are unique equippable items that can change how you fight, defend, move, heal, and interact with enemies.

Unlike Augments, which modified individual abilities, Relics can affect your entire character.

20 Unique Relics

  • Added 20 unique Relics with different gameplay effects.

  • Each Relic costs between 1 and 4 capacity points.

  • Start with 6 Relic capacity.

  • Increase your capacity to 10 using Bearing Clasps.

  • Permanently unlock Relics as you discover them.

  • Equip and change Relics while outside combat.

  • Added a new Relic interface in the Abilities menu.

  • Added Relic discovery and collection tracking.

Some Relics You Can Discover

  • Charger's Spur: Transforms Dash into a shoulder charge, damaging enemies and gathering affected enemies together.

  • Carved Kestrel: Grants a bird companion that periodically attacks enemies.

  • Ransom Purse: Spend Gold to reduce incoming damage.

  • Barrowcold Ring: Slows nearby enemies' attack recovery.

  • Encore Signet: Grants an extra charge to eligible abilities.

  • Twinfang Tassel: Turns Quick Slash into a double strike.

  • Cadence Bell: Rewards well-timed attacks with additional strikes.

  • Hearthstone Charm: Regenerates health outside combat.

  • Mirrorguard Sigil: Improves Riposte effectiveness.

  • Cartographer's Pin: Helps locate undiscovered Relics.

Experiment with different combinations and discover the builds that work best for you!

Passive System Removal

The previous equippable Passive Ability system has been retired as part of the new progression overhaul.

  • Removed equippable Passive Abilities.

  • Removed the old Passive Ability slots and interface.

  • Removed the bonuses associated with the previous Passive Ability system.

  • Character Mastery remains available, including its passive stat bonuses.

  • Relics now provide an additional way to customize your character alongside abilities, equipment, and Character Mastery.

Introducing The Crucible — A New Boss Rush Game Mode!

The Crucible is a brand-new game mode introduced in Update 2.0!

Test your combat skills against powerful bosses in a dedicated arena designed for challenging encounters.
