Cardaire: Eternal Aces · published · build 26391900
A big heartfelt thanks to everyone who's tried the demo out and given feedback or reported bugs. I've been posting the incremental patch notes over on the official discord, but for those who've missed it here's a roundup of all the patch notes from the past month. Only one week left till launch, see you soon duelists. Wooo! Updates:
Divine Grace: +100 Atk and gain Lifebond -> Gain Lifebond
Updated and improved the booster pack art
Updated the network duel information text to be clearer when you make a game
Fiff small rework. 300/300, +200 Atk -> 400/300, +100 Atk
Blade Fury. 3 Energy -> 4 Energy
Updated texture of pre-duel ace art to be higher quality
Transition into network duels is now smoother
Added a 2/3 match option for network duels
Improved the out of bounds sightlines so they feel a little less empty
Added a little more juice to the pack open animation with a brief card shine sequence.
Overhauled the "new" card tracking in the deck editor. I wanted players to have a better sense of what cards they've picked up since the last time they edited their deck since there are so many cards in the game.
It will now track the first three copies of cards that are new since the last time you opened it, not just first copies of cards.
The "Only New" section will glow and display how many new cards the player has, if any
Brushed up the lighting in the "Demo's Start" area
Quitting from in game will now close the game entirely, rather than return to the main menu
Even MORE tuning to make sure the ace follow npcs stay glued to the player
You can now use the spacebar to trigger a lucky draw when playing with keyboard and mouse
Replaced Canned Heat in the starter deck with Iron Lizard
Fine tuned gamepad and keyboard/mouse input switching. Things should now switch much more reliably when you change your input mode mid duel, and they should not switch unexpectedly mid action any more
Further fine tuning on the enemy AI to better prioritize slot placement and attacks
Added a note to the menu about what enabling "Fast Duel Mode" does
Slightly sped up card flip speed when opening a pack
Improved network duel logging to help speed up any future needed fixes
Majorly reworked the options menu code, so adding or tweaking future options will be faster
Improved gamepad control in the options menu
When playing with a gamepad the game will now start duels in gamepad mode
Added an option for FPS cap to the video options menu. (Was previously capped at 60. Generally I would suggest keeping it at 60/use the vsync option)
Updated the quit confirm message to now correctly confirm to quit the game entirely, rather than return to the main menu
Added a snazzy energy spending animation that will show more energy being spent depending on the cost of the card being played. You can toggle this off in the gameplay options menu, if it's not your cup of tea.
Bug Fixes:
Fixed a bug that would sometimes show a shorter than intended fishing timer bar
Fixed the sprint sound effect continuing to play when fishing
Fixed being able to select cards in hand and field while the discard or void browser was open
Fixed a bug that would display the wrong card examine when multiple cards overlapped
Cleaned up a whole bunch of stuff with discard ordering. It will now re-order properly if you are viewing it while cards are added to it, the most recent card will always show on top, and the order the browser displays will be the order cards were added
The cards the enemy voids for energy will now display face down and hidden in the void browser. If the player would be able to get extra info from viewing what cards are voided, the correct play would be to check what was voided every turn which would be hella tedious
Player and enemy life counters now account for LUDICROUSLY high life totals. Better displaying them, and ticking up/down faster if it's a large change
Fixed a bug that would sometimes drop the 2nd match of a 2/3 network duel
Fixed a bug that would reverse gamepad entry for discard card selection
The fishing shard tracker now accounts for larger shard counts in a single fishing action
The save/load menu now accounts for larger shard counts with it's spacing
Updated the ace follower behavior to get stuck on objects less often
Fixed a bug that would let you open the discard viewer while duels were starting
Fixed a bug with the demo start area lighting on outdated graphics card drivers
You can now undo spells with controller input
Fixed various issues with being able select cards in duel while the pause menu was open
You can now press the x button on xbox controllers (or whatever your equivalent is if you are using an inferior controller) to save a deck while editing it
Fixed incorrect pack art showing in the collection menu
While using a gamepad, your mouse input will no longer select/highlight cards and slots
Players can no longer attack, play cards, or convert cards to energy in the middle of pre-turn abilities triggering
Fixed a bug that would would cause noticeable jumps when a duel background looped
Fixed a rare targeting issue with spell cards that would keep targets from being selected
Fixed a bug that was outputting a ton of warnings to the log during duels
The visuals for card effects will no longer play if their condition is not met.
Fixed a bug that would cause a player's energy to reset to 0 in network duels
Improved the turn pass logic so that longer end of turn effects do not stack up and roll over into the next turn in network duels
Fixed a bug that was keeping consecutive direct attacks from being queued
Fixed a bug that would allow players to open a different player's discard when viewing a void zone
Fixed various bugs that would lead to discard contents getting de-synced in network duels
Fixed a bug that would keep some video options from applying on game load
Fixed a bug that would cause the top discard card to display incorrectly in network duels
