Patch 1.72.0: No More Hiccups

HB Evolution · published · build 26386167

You must update your client to log in. If you're playing when the server restarts, you don't have to do anything: the game updates itself and logs you back in. Otherwise, close the game, open the launcher and press PLAY. On Steam the update is automatic.

A quiet patch with a loud effect: the world no longer catches its breath in the middle of your fight. On top of that, your quick keys finally remember what you put on them, and a bad second on your connection no longer costs you the whole session.

Improved

Smoother world: fixed brief freezes of up to a second that hit everyone online several times a day, including the one that came every time someone used a Name Change Ticket.

Quick keys remember the item: a quick slot now holds the item itself, not its place in your bag, so after you log in again it equips what you put there and nothing else. If that item isn't in your bag, the key tells you and equips nothing; get the item back and the key works again on its own. Quick slots hold equipment and spells.

Per character, per profile: F2, F3 and 0 are now saved per character, and each key profile keeps its own quick-slot contents. A new profile starts as a copy of the one you're using.

Marigold: talking to her in the Shop now also refills your stamina, along with your health, mana and hunger.

Potion tooltips: Ginseng, Revitalizing Potion, Power Green Potion, Super Green Potion and Dilution Potion now explain exactly what they do.

Changed

Enemy kills and rebirths: the 30-level rule for enemy kills now uses your effective level (level plus rebirths) on both sides, the same way every other level check in the game already does. A level 104 with 27 rebirths counts as 131, and the red ring under their feet agrees.

Aresden and Elvine: a few monster spawn areas around both cities have moved. Same monsters, same numbers.

Fixed

A brief connection hiccup while your character is dead no longer drops you from the game: you come back right where you fell, with the Restart button.

Spinning your character quickly with right-click no longer shows false "Network Traffic/Lag" warnings or delays your next run.

Items on the ground no longer vanish from view when you receive loot or another item while standing on them.
